Paraquat Facts & History

The total number of Paraquat federal lawsuits has risen to more than 20. As more people learn that their diagnosis could be related to Paraquat exposure, hundreds, if not thousands, more cases are likely to be filed in the coming months and years.

Parkinson's patients exposed to Paraquat products like Gramoxone have filed similar cases in:

  • California
  • Illinois
  • Wisconsin
  • Arkansas
  • Maryland
  • Missouri
  • West Virginia

Plaintiffs who allege they've been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease after being exposed to Paraquat-based herbicides have asked the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation (JPML) to merge their cases into multi-district litigation.

Multidistrict litigation (MDL) is a formality that groups the Paraquat cases to reduce overlap and expedite the legal process. As a result, there is no time to waste on a neurological disorder like Parkinson's. In addition, multidistrict litigation's efficiencies reduce redundancy and provide individuals with the quickest path to justice.
